Jenni Hutchinson of Lake District Wine wil be with us to introduce our Screen 2 Audience to four outstanding champagnes from her Packhorse Court cellars. You will taste in the course of the evening, There'll be an introductory glass of champagne and three further Champagne tastings in the course of the film, including, naturally, the eponymous Veuve Clicquot,
with Jenni giving us the benefit of her unrivalled knowledge of each bottle.
All that and this superb film, teling the true story of the very real Veuve!
After her husband's death, the expectation was that the Clicquot cellars and vineyards would pass into other hands - but Madame Clicquot had other ideas. Flouting convention, she grasped the reins of their wine business, defying her critics and ultimately revolutionizing the champagne industry, establishing her as one of the world's first great businesswomen.
