FAQ

Can I reserve a particular seat?

Yes, virtually all all tickets are for allocated seats. Very occasionally a screening will be free-seating, without allocation (Keswick Film Club do not use allocated seating - it's first-come-first-served).

How can I book using my gift voucher/complimentary ticket?

We moved to a new website and ticketing system in October 2023. If your gift voucher code is not in the format specified on our website, you won't be able to book online - please email us on info@keswickalhambra.co.uk or call 017687 72195 with details of the voucher you have, and the show, date and time you'd like to book, approximately where you'd like to sit, and we'll book you in and email you the confirmation. You can also just show up on the door with your voucher/complimentary ticket when you want to see a film - we do usually have plenty of free seats available, but of course that can't be guaranteed.

Do I have to book online/in advance?

No, you can also purchase your ticket at the cinema box office in person at the time of the film. Advance booking can be done online, in person from the box office when we are open, or by calling us on 017687 72195. It is a good idea to buy in advance if your film is in our small Screen 2 (which only has 28 seats) and it is raining - or for very popular films and for some of our live Special Events, but most of the time we have plenty of seats available in Screen 1.

What is there to eat and drink?

We sell a range of very reasonably-priced alcoholic and soft drinks, water, confectionary, nuts, popcorn and Lakeland ice-cream.

Are you wheelchair accessible?

Yes, there is space for 1 wheelchair in Screen 2, and a mobility scooter/up to two wheelchairs in the stalls of Screen 1, with an accessible toilet also.

Do you have audio induction loop installed?

We have individual headsets that you can ask for at the kiosk, with either headphones or a loop to put around your neck which will broadcast to your hearing aid's T-setting. The system also has audio-description for the visually impaired.

Are dogs allowed?

You can bring your dog into the kiosk reception area, but only assistance dogs are permitted in the screens.

When is the next Keswick Film Festival?

Check the Keswick Film Festival website.

How do the E-tickets work?

Once you have booked your ticket online, you will receive a confirmation email. No need to print this out, you can just tell us your name or ticket number on arrival, we'll have the info, including your seat number (though of course it's quicker if you know what your own seat number is!). You can book tickets for as many people as you want: just forward them the confirmation email for them to present at the gate. You do not need to show the credit card you used to make the booking when you arrive at the cinema.

I didn’t get my e-ticket!

Make sure you entered/are checking the correct email address. If you may have entered the wrong email address (most common issue is a typo), email info@keswickalhambra.co.uk or call us on 017687 72195 (leave a message with your name and phone number, and which film/time you booked), and we ought to be able to establish whether you have indeed made the purchase. If you’re on our list, we’ll let you know and let you in!

Cancellations/returns

Contact us as soon as possible to explain the circumstances. With enough notice we are nearly always able to swap your booking or give you a credit note so you can use your funds for another screening.

Are my credit/debit card details secure?

Our ticket booking system is run by Savoy Systems Oscar, who connect you to Clover, which is a 100% secure payment platform that processes your online booking. Neither the Keswick Alhambra nor Oscar receives your full credit card information, only the last four digits of your card.

Will my data be secure?

Yes, we value your privacy and will not pass on your data. See more about our data and privacy policy in the Terms & Conditions section of this website

Do you do relaxed or parent and baby screenings?

Yes, we do hold screenings where we keep the lights on low for visibility, sound a bit lower than usual, and where the sound of infants or other more noisy or restless or jiggly cinema patrons is to be expected (it's a 'no-tutting' environment!). All are welcome at these screenings - head for the balcony at stalls prices if you are not accompanied by an infant. Under 24 months free. To find out what is on, and help us select films, join our Keswick Alhambra Parents & Babies Facebook Group.
