We saw this at an advance screening and liked it for being funny and entertaining but also having depth, so we booked it for Keswick audiences to enjoy too.
When Rick (Paul Rudd), a past-his-prime wedding singer, meets fading boy-band star Danny (Nick Jonas) during a gig, the two bond over music and a late-night jam session. But when Danny turns one of Rick’s songs into the hit that reignites his career, Rick sets out on a madcap mission to reclaim the recognition he believes he deserves - even as he doesn't realise that he is risking everything he cares about.
It's a feelgood story about the love of music, having self-respect, the importance of friendship, and the dangers of uncontrolled ambition.
